Krista has worked at JAMHI for over 3 years, first as a case manager, then moving into the case manager supervisor position in 2022.  She was drawn to the whole person approach, and hasn’t looked back!

Born and raised in Juneau, AK; Krista is Tlingit of the Yanyedi clan, Juneau/Douglas, and the Taku are the ancestral homelands of her clan.  She appreciates her upbringing that included training in her indigenous traditions and the positive impact it has had on her approach to mental health.  “Taking care of one’s mental health is more than just treating one aspect of the individual.  It is looking at the person as a whole.”

Krista has a passion for psychology, mental health and wellness; and is continuing her professional growth with a Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling.

When Krista isn’t in the office, she’s quite likely traveling; indulging in pursuit of adventure and experiencing other cultures and perspectives.  Her favorite destinations currently include; Banff National Park, Germany and England.
