Becca’s role as the Recruitment and Benefits Specialist means that she gets to help recruit the best talent to our JAMHI family and then help staff learn about their benefits. It’s a big role, but perfect for extroverted Becca.
Though she grew up in Northwest Ohio, she knew that wasn’t her forever home. When she got the opportunity to move to St. Louis, MO she took it and while there completed her Bachelor’s degree and learned a bit about television production and a lot about writing. When the chance to relocate to Las Vegas, NV presented itself she moved there and learned the ins and outs of social media marketing and the basics of plumbing.
Eventually she moved back to Ohio and ever the curious person, joined the Army National Guard. About her experience in the Army National Guard she said, “I pushed my limits and found they existed much farther back than I originally thought and traveled to the Middle East twice.” It was through that experience she learned that she can do whatever she sets her mind to, and that the desert is not for her. This thrill of adventure and lush environment is part of what attracted her to Juneau.
When she isn’t working, Becca enjoys exploring Juneau’s outdoors, reading anything from biographies to high fantasy, and learning – about everything! Asking “why?” and “how?” helps her learn and help problem solve; especially helpful when trying to forge a great bond between JAMHI and future employees!
